Environmental Services Manager

Position Title:               Environmental Services Manager

Reporting To:                Administrator

Hours:                         Full Time


POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages the housekeeping, maintenance and laundry departments to achieve high standards of maintenance, cleanliness, sanitation and provide linen service in the home in accordance with legislative requirements and within budgetary constraints

May perform general, routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the home.

Chairs the JOHSC and safety group

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Plans, organizes, directs and supervises the activities of the housekeeping, maintenance and laundry departments to ensure high standards.

Participates in the hiring process, trains/orients and provides work direction.

Monitors and evaluates performance.

Attempts to resolve problems with staff and refers to supervisor, if necessary. Encourages staff participation in education and follows up.

Schedules and completes payroll for the departments

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. a post-secondary degree or diploma;
  2. knowledge of evidence-based practices and, if there are none, prevailing practices relating to housekeeping, laundry and maintenance, as applicable; and
  3. a minimum of two years experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
